Performing on multiple keyboards as well as drum programming, percussion and trumpet, Brian Culbertson made this all-instrumental Valentine’s Day release to mark his 20th wedding anniversary. It’s silken in texture and deeply melodic, with mostly acoustic piano in the foreground and subtle backing only from Isaiah Sharkey on guitar and Peter White on accordion (the latter on “In a Dream”). The rock edge of “Love Transcended” and the intimate solo-piano balladry of “Through the Years” and “Michelle’s Theme” reveal an artist of impressive range.
