Probably the only classical singer to also maintain an active career as a break-dancer, Poland’s Jakub Józef Orliński has a stunningly beautiful countertenor voice, which he uses to heart-stopping effect. Supported by one of the go-to Baroque period bands of the 2000s, Il Pomo d’Oro, Orliński serves up a programme of sacred arias (many of which are premiere recordings) by composers both well-known (Hasse, Heinichen and Zelenka) and rarely encountered (Fago, Sarro and Terradellas). Whether firing off stunning coloratura or spinning an exquisite long line, he delivers music to nourish your soul and fire your imagination.
