Vince Gill is one of the most well-liked and respected figures in the country world—a genteel and generous musician who adapted with aplomb when his role shifted from hitmaker to elder. One of his signatures as a vocalist is the way he lets tender-heartedness well up in his singing, but on <i>Okie</i>, he leavens his sensuality and sentimentality with social consciousness.
