"I wanted to rediscover the way I originally began producing music 22 years ago,” Calvin Harris tells Apple Music. “Before I ever thought about how it might be perceived by outside forces, just pure fun and experimentation with what sounded good to me.” That journey led the star DJ/producer to a vault of vintage house and techno records that shaped the heyday of rave culture in the early ’90s, a sound Harris says he was "obsessed with” growing up in Dumfries, Scotland, before he became the king of main-stage dance-pop crossovers. Under a new alias, Love Regenerator, he presents two transportive, underground-inspired tracks: the soulful piano house cut “Hypnagogic (I Can’t Wait)” and the spiralling and progressive “CP-1”, each with its own inventive remix. "In fact, I’ve done everything I can to make them sound like they’ve come from a 1991 time capsule,” he says. “Every synth and sound used is from that time period.”
