After signing to American label Elektra Records in 2020, the predictable thing for Prateek Kuhad to do would have been to release an English album. Instead—perhaps encouraged by the success of his single “Kasoor”—he chose to deliver his first Hindi EP in eight years. The popular acoustic version of that hit is on this collection, and it has a vintage vibe owing to liberal use of Urdu words and Wurlitzer electric piano. Unlike the bouquet of wistful ballads that was <i>cold/mess</i>, <i>Sherhron Ke Raaz</i> is full of declarations of eternal love. It may be singular in subject matter, but few make falling so hard sound so tender.
