Charli XCX: “In this set, I mix up a lot of amazing songs that really heavily influenced my upcoming album <i>CRASH</i>. Songs from Janet, Prince, Cameo, Mariah Carey—just songs that have a retro sort of rhythmic feel to them. Songs with incredible snare drums often, and songs that make you want to dance.”<br /> Depending on where you were this past year, dancing likely happened in fits and starts. But what’s been constant is the renewed sense of optimism with which the world’s best DJs are attacking their craft. To close out 2021, Apple Music has invited more than 20 of them to compile exclusive mixes that considered the year that was and the year that will be, bringing us ever closer to that time when we can all dance together again.
