The Viking of Soca, Bunji Garlin, channels the liberating spirit of Carnival with this five-track Apple Music Home Session. Leading with a stirring version of “Island Vibe”, from 2022 EP <i>4</i>, Garlin’s feverish ragga soca style receives a re-edit, alongside a cover of wife Fay-Ann Lyons’ “Dive”. “Recording these tracks gave me a sense of freedom to be creative in ways that we don’t usually experience,” he tells Apple Music. “The key thing for us has always been about adaptation. Even during the pandemic and the last two years, with no Carnival around, it’s been all about how we could adapt and keep reaching people in different ways.”
