Marvin Humes borrowed the instructive hook of Usher’s 2001 classic “U-Turn” for new single “Put Your Hands Up”, which in turn inspires—and lends its title to—this exclusive mix of R&B-infused tracks. Launching with the singer, presenter, DJ and radio host’s summertime single, this mix sees Humes cycle across a golden era of ’90s and 2000s icons—including Bell Biv DeVoe, Ginuwine, Jodeci and Robin Thicke. “There’s been so many great R&B and hip-hop tunes that have been sampled over the years and become massive dance tracks,” Marvin tells Apple Music. “My personal favourites include Secondcity’s ‘I Wanna Feel’ [sampling Toni Braxton] and Tough Love’s ‘So Freakin’ Tight’ [sampling Jodeci].
