Featuring anthems from Frank De Wulf, Spectrum, Joey Beltram, plus Kenny Dope and House Syndicate, this mix fixes a deserved spotlight on Belgian techno and its deep impact on dance music. “Belgian techno from the early ’90s is as important a genre as any that have followed as far as dance music is concerned—but it doesn’t receive the praise it is due,” Altern-8’s Mark Archer tells Apple Music. “Without these tracks coming over to the UK from Europe, hardcore wouldn’t have evolved the way it did and the shape of dance music today could be very different. These tracks have had a massive influence on my career and were absolute monsters at raves and dance floors back in the golden era of rave.”
