Punjabi singer, lyricist and songwriter Prem Dhillon switches gears from the gedi-ready hip-hop of his prior EP—2022’s romance-themed <i>Archives</i>—and puts the pedal to the metal on <i>Limitless</i>. The record (like his other 2022 EP, <i>No Lookin’ Back</i>) leans heavily into the gangsta rap vibe on “Back of Car”, “Badberry” and “Idgs”—Dhillon’s rugged voice booming throughout each track, in step with big-sounding beats courtesy of producers Rass, SAN-B and Snappy. It’s not all so full-on, though, as Dhillon throws in a couple of softer tunes too; tear-jerking ballad “Chor Chor” and The Kidd-assisted pop ditty “Flirt” reflect the artist’s warmer side.
