Inspired by characters from the beloved comics, the 2023 teen-movie outing for The Archies transports audiences back to the 1960s. So it’s fitting that its soundtrack—composed by singer-songwriter Ankur Tewari, Shankar Ehsaan Loy and other top songsmiths—reflects that decade of change. There’s exuberant jazz, swing and rock in both Hindi and English with singers Dot. and Tejas stealing many magical moments—the former’s soothing vocals on the four “Dear Diary” entries deserve special mention. She also stars on the lively “Dhishoom Dhishoom” that’s punctuated by a bold brass section and rousing chorus.
