As a singer, producer and entrepreneur, Zakes Bantwini knows a thing or two about ushering in the sounds of summer, and here he’s curated a mix that captures the best parts of the season. “The perfect place to enjoy this playlist is somewhere on the coast with great views or out and about with friends,” he tells Apple Music. Along with some of his favourite scene-setting tracks, here you’ll also find two special cuts from Bantwini’s 2023 album, <i>The Star Is Reborn</i>. “These songs have a very special place in my heart,” he explains, “as one is a dedicated to my mom (“Mama Thula”) and the other to my dad “(Abasekho”), who are both late and I miss and love them dearly.”
