One of the most renowned young stars of música mexicana, Ángela Aguilar now joins these esteemed ranks with this concise yet forceful set of songs. Throughout <i>Bolero</i>, she draws upon classics and favourites alike, honouring the singers and songwriters of generations past amid lush arrangements and instrumentation. Popularised in the 1990s by Luz Casal though written decades prior, “Piensa en Mí” finds new life through Aguilar’s voice and emotional delivery. “Obsesión” nods back to her grandparents’ performances of the song as she makes her own mark right through the stunning crescendo.
