Nine-year-old Beatrice Rana made her debut with orchestra in 2002 in J.S. Bach’s Keyboard Concerto in F minor. The Italian pianist’s affection for the work has deepened since, as has her empathy for the composer’s other solo keyboard concertos. She has found ideal partners for this album in the form of the Amsterdam Sinfonietta, a conductorless string ensemble ever ready to explore fresh ideas. Before recording them, Rana and her orchestra took four of Bach’s concertos on tour, cementing their partnership and honing their charismatic artistry, resulting here in countless insights into these timeless works.
