Even in formal songs, revered London MC D Double E often sounds like he's ramping up in the middle of a radio cypher—each bar is positioned to hit harder than the one preceding it. It’s less what Double E does than who he is. Accordingly, his six-song <i>King of Reloads</i> EP is a collection of the MC’s latest and greatest musings, splayed over higher-energy backdrops courtesy of producer Sir Spyro. We could say D is in rare form here, but that would indicate that we’ve been asleep for a run that now spans some four decades.
