Four albums in, Floridian deathcore mob Bodysnatcher are all about revenge. <i>Hell is Here, Hell is Home</i> is a merciless collection of songs driven largely by the family trauma and personal grievances of drummer/lyricist Chris Whited, who recently lost two siblings to opioid overdoses just one year apart. You can hear the anger and frustration on “May Your Memory Rot”, a song directed at another family member. Skull-crushers “Writhe and Coil”, “Violent Obsession” and “The Maker” call for vengeance with gang vocals while delivering a heavily beefed-up take on the tough-guy hardcore tactics of Hatebreed and Terror. In that spirit, Terror vocalist Scott Vogel makes a guest appearance on “Survive or Die”, teaming up with Bodysnatcher vocalist Kyle Medina to challenge an unnamed adversary.
