Fans of DESTIN CONRAD are surely familiar with his R&B stylings. They are also likely familiar with his foray into jazz on <i>wHIMSY</i>, originally released in 2025 and extended in 2026. Devotees would be forgiven for not knowing about CONRAD’s exploration into the world of reggae…until <i>ROADRUNNER</i>, his 2026 album that pays homage to his Jamaican roots. Though the genre may be a departure from his typical sounds, the Tampa-born singer is no tourist in the land of dub. He’s at home on opener <b>“ROADRUNNER,”</b> where he riffs over a laidback groove and melds his various worlds: crooning about dropping a bag in Neiman Marcus and hanging out in Miami. Despite the positive vibes throughout, there are some moments of heartbreak and reckoning, like on <b>“FAVORITE LOVER”</b>, in which CONRAD laments about what could have been. <b>“NO MORE”</b> exists in a similar lyrical space, but sonically, he blends the reggae beats he favours on the record with a more traditional R&B delivery.
