This young soprano proves her interest in the core repertoire by turning in committed performances of Rachmaninov’s “Vocalise” and Caccini’s “Ave Maria". But like her equally innovative peers in the classical crossover scene, Evancho reaches far and wide to find ways to connect with audiences: She gives us a solemn rendition of “The Rains of Castamere” (famous from HBO’s <i>Game of Thrones</i>), as well as winning versions of familiar tunes from the likes of U2 (“With or Without You”) and Ennio Morricone (“Your Love”).
